Step 6. You have chosen the iPod shuffle! This small iPod is great for exercise. It is very compact and can be clipped to your clothing. It is also the least expensive iPod, which makes it great for younger children who want to give the iPod a try. The shuffle is the only iPod without a screen. This means you do not have the option to select different songs from your playlist while listening. The songs will either play in order, or you can have them shuffle randomly. The iPod shuffle comes in 2 sizes: 1GB and 2GB. 2GB holds up to 500 songs. 1GB holds up to 250 songs. Choose the size that will best meet your needs. If in doubt, go with 2GB. You have a choice of silver, blue, green, pink or red.

Step 7. You have chosen the iPod nano. This iPod comes in bright rainbow colors. You can choose red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, silver or black. You can listen to music, watch video, view photos, and play games on the nano. It has some great features like shake to shuffle and Genius. Shake to shufle lets you shake the iPod to shuffle your songs. Genius creates playlists for you based on songs in your library that go together. This iPod comes in 2 sizes: 8GB and 16GB. 8GB holds up to 2,000 songs or 8 hours video. The 16GB holds up to 4,000 songs or 16 hours video.

Step 8. You have chosen the iPod touch. This iPod has a touch screen and the most features. You can listen to music, watch video, view photos, play games, and surf the Internet. There are also web applications that can be downloaded to use on this iPod. For the Internet, you need to be in a wifi hot spot. There is not a fee to connect to the Internet unless you are in a hot spot that charges for use. You would know that ahead of time though, and many hot spots are free. You can also connect in someplace like your home if you have wireless Internet there. The iPod touch comes in 3 sizes: 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB. The 8GB can hold up to 1,750 songs or up to 10 hours video. The 16GB holds up to 3,500 songs or up to 20 hours video. The 32GB holds up to 7,000 songs or up to 40 hours video. Keep in mind that you may also want room for applications. Those web apps will take up some space too.

Step 9. You have chosen the iPod classic. This is the largest iPod and holds the most music and/or video. You can listen to music, watch video, play games, and view photos on this iPod. This is the only iPod that has a hard drive instead of a flash drive, which makes it a little less durable than the others. This is not the best choice for a runner, but it is the best choice for someone with a very large music collection. The iPod classic comes in black or silver. It is one size only - 120GB. It holds up to 30,000 songs or up to 150 hours video.
